Stewart Tuckniss designs decorative wooden soldiers depicting great regiments and events from the British Period of Empire. Stewart studied a Masters degree in the Politics of NATO and has since 1991 worked extensively within the UK Ministry of Defence working alongside the Army and Royal Air Force. Stewart began a three year career break in September 00 to promote Colonial Soldier. Soldiers from his collection can be found displayed in prominent UK Officers Messes as well as in museums and galleries. Recently, Stewart has been commissioned by the Victoria and Albert museum to reproduce Tippoo Sultans famous mechanical Tiger - which is currently for sale in the museum shop.
